    Hamilton

Eastern Pathways Te Ara o te Rawhiti enhances accessibility across eastern Hamilton by linking the city centre to schools, businesses, medical centres, and aged care facilities with a variety of easier, safer, and more reliable transport options. These options will include walking, cycling, and public transport.

The core of Eastern Pathways Te Ara o te Rawhiti is the School Link project, which connects 19 schools with over 9,500 students. The road improvements focus on the key north-south transport route in eastern Hamilton, extending from Hukanui Road in the north to Peachgrove Road in the south, between Wairere Drive and Clyde Street.

    Services provided by Tactical included:

    • Project establishment, including the set up of a project management plan, delivery schedule, risk registers, and cashflow forecast
    • Project management, including stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and reporting
    • Procurement for a design partner to deliver the Eastern Pathways School Links detailed design packages.

Tactical achieved significant milestones, including establishing a robust three-year delivery programme for the detailed design and construction phases, managing a $30 million capital expenditure budget for the initial tranche of Eastern Pathways packages.
